SWHC Board
The SWHC Board guides the association to abide by SWHC, PNAHA, and USA Hockey policies. The Board is voted in by its members and runs the non-profit organization with long term financial and hockey goals in mind.
The Board is comprised of the executive branch – President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Directors – and other committee members.
The Board meets monthly all year, and additionally as needed, and each member contributes 15 to 20 hours of work per week. Board member terms are two years. Members are welcome to attend board meetings. Contact the board to confirm the meeting time and location at board@swhc.org

Shana Woodrome, Treasurer
Favourite SWHC Moment: Travel tournaments! The club sends teams to Wenatchee in the fall and play against our friends from Wenatchee, Winthrop, and more!
Originally from Seattle, Shana got into hockey in high school. It has been incredible watching the hockey community grow here, especially for women!
Rachel Moody, Secretary
Favourite SWHC Moment: Getting to be part of a ceremonial puck drop with members of the Seattle Torrent during our annual Puck Place Market tournament in 2026!
I first got involved in the Seattle hockey community in 2022, but off the ice…I had never skated before (or played a team sport!). I started skating in 2023 with a Learn to Skate class and fell in love with it. I’ve been with SWHC as a skater since then, and joined the board in 2024. I love our community and how supportive everyone is, both on and off the ice! It’s been amazing to see the sport and our club grow over the past few years, and I’m so excited to be a part of it.
Nicki Thompson, Director of Technology and Systems
Favourite SWHC Moment: bench coaching for Hat Trick Swayze!
Originally from Vancouver, Nicki has played hockey her whole life (barring some early years of ringette). After playing for UC Santa Cruz’s first ever ice hockey team, she moved back up north and joined SWHC in 2019. She plays in division 2 and coaches in D4. She loves that the club provides such an accessible and friendly environment for all women to learn & play hockey. Willow Mosier, Director of Goalie Operations
Favourite SWHC Moment: has to be Give Hockey A Try (GHAT). It’s so much fun seeing fledgling goalies learn to walk (and fall) for the first time.
Willow (She/her) grew up in the Seattle area and started playing hockey as an adult, eventually transitioning to net. When not on the ice, she loves to play women’s soccer, listen to her album collection, tease her black cats, and find the N+1th hobby.
Melissa DeTora, Director of Community Platforms
Favourite SWHC moment: Hard to pick one! The vibes of my last team, the Penalty Foxes, were great! We had a blast every game win or lose and everyone was very supportive. At the end of the season we voted and gave out awards and that was really fun.
I started playing hockey about 3.5 years ago (which included learning how to skate), and I’ve been hooked ever since! My goal when playing is to learn and improve every time I step out onto the ice, and I’m hoping to help out new players as well while I’m on the board. My day job is in the games industry, working on game design for Magic: The Gathering and my other hobbies include gaming (tabletop and video games), hiking and strength training.

I was born and raised in Southern California and grew up watching Ducks and Kings games with my dad. Was always an athlete as a kid and I always loved watching hockey, but it was out of our price point to play so I played soccer primarily as a kid. I occasionally played street hockey with my dad’s massively oversized lefty stick and hand-me-down roller skates. After graduating college and spending time exploring other sports in my 20s (paintball, rock climbing, rec league soccer). I took a few years off watching sports and eventually, when I moved to Seattle in 2021, I spent the next couple years learning Alpine Climbing, Mountaineering, Skiing, and introducing my husband to hockey via the Kraken. I hadn’t ice skated in close to 20 something years and discovered a SWHC scrimmage at a public skate a few years back. Signed up for a GHAT in August 2025 and had so much fun I joined the club the following month. I’ve had so much fun playing with the club and getting to know everybody I wish I had gotten to try this sooner. I’m now a grassroots youth hockey coach for the Kraken Youth Hockey Association and as a board member for SWHC I’m very excited to see where else I can contribute to this amazing game!

Favourite SWHC Moment: Doing a coordinated Halloween jail/court themed costume game with Jerri Duty!
I started playing roller hockey in Marietta, Georgia in middle school. When I got to high school there weren’t many options for girls to play so I left the sport for about 15 years. I got back into it in 2022 when a co-worker, who was the captain of a roller hockey team, learned I used to play and signed me up for a tournament. When I moved to Seattle in 2023, I found that I had options to play women’s ice hockey and jumped right in! I play in division 2 in Seattle Women’s, KWHL, and pond hockey. I love to see the opportunities we have in women’s sports these days!
